THE LEAD VERDICT
“their french onion soup was perfect honestly. rich deeply caramelized broth with melted gruyere on top that stretches forever. sometimes thats all you need - just solid execution”
“took 20 minutes to flag down teh server for the check tho. place wasnt even that busy chefs kiss”
ALSO FILED
“saturday brunch menu has teh best eggs Benedict - house-cured salmon, perfectly poached eggs that like ooze golden yolk all over the toasted brioche”
“holladnaise was kinda broken looking - you could see the separation and it was grainy instead of that smooth velvety texture you want would go back”
“teh crème brûlée was textbook perfect - silky custard with the right vanilla bean balance, sugar crust on top that cracked like glass when you hit it with the spoon. went great with their dessert wine selection solid”
“honestly wine list is extensive but they're missing key dessert wines like late harvest rieslings that would pair better with their pastries”
“thee ragù Bolognese reminded me of my nonna's - slow-cooked for hours til the meat melts into the tomatoes, fresh pappardelle that was actually al dente. this is how it should be done idk”
“def tehy use pre-grated parmesan instead of freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano which is kind of a cardinal sin for italian food honestly ha”
“the presentation was honestly instagram gold - steak frites came with these gorgeous purple microgreens and you could see the perfect medium-rare pink inside when they sliced it. the lighting in here makes everything look restaurant-quality in photos”
“i mean fries were super limp and clearly not fresh-cut which is so disappointing. for a dish thats supposed to be about steak AND frites the soggy potatoes just ruin the whole thing wow”
“real talk tehy actually mark the halal options clearly on the menu which i appreciated and their lamb tagine was authentically spiced with preserved lemons and olives. finally somewhere on The Main that doesnt just cater to the party CROWD no joke”
“but the dining room gets INSANELY loud after 9 when the bar people show up. nice dinner turned into shouting across the table just to talk”
“teh seafood platter was exactly what i wanted - fresh oysters that taste like the ocean not the fridge and mussels in white wine broth so good i soaked up every drop with their crusty bread. you can tell they actually know what theyre doing with fresh shellfish”
“the salmon felt rubbery like it had been sitting under a heat lamp and then reheated. ok but that texture only happens when fish gets overcooked which is just frustrating 10/10”
“grabbed a spot at the bar adn gotta watch the bartender do their thing - every garnish placed perfectly every shake timed right. service was attentive without being annoying no joke”
“bar stools are weirdly high and wobbly which is awkward when you're trying to enjoy actually realy good cocktails”
